These microorganisms are more than just passengers—they are critical allies in maintaining your health. Annoy them, and they can cause havoc, such as frequent trips to the bathroom. But nourish them, and they’ll help keep your gut healthy and your immune system strong.

How to care for your gut bacteria:

• Feed them fermented fibers found in foods like yogurt, vegetables, and whole grains.
